After a very long journey of 532 km, we arrived in Dawson City. We did stop at the Moose Creek Lodge for a bite to eat and a stretch of the legs. It was hard driving.
Parked the RV and headed straight to the Parks Canada walking tour. It was quite excellent and we got a nice history of the town. Klondike Kate described life in Dawson during the Gold Rush.
Then, we were off to Diamond Gerties. The beer was cold and the women were hot. Watched the show which reminded me of when my dear sister starring up at Wonderland doing a few singing and dancing shows per day. I really don’t like rides but Stephen and I went on every single one that day we went to see her perform. I still remember screaming on the salt and pepper. 30 plus years later I was hosting my nephew Harper for the annual Camp AF extravaganza. He really wanted to go on all the big rides at Wonderland. I grabbed the kid next door (and his Mom) and off we went. Did I mention that I HATE rides, but for Harper, I will do anything. We raced right to the newest scariest roller coaster. The Mom of Ben was having none of this and was in charge of holding our stuff that otherwise would fly off forever. We get to the height restriction thingy, and Ben is bounced off for being too short. Harper and I finally get to our seats on the coaster and just as they are putting the restraining bar down, Harper turns to me and states “I can’t do it” and hops off. So there is old Aunt Fanny on the coaster all by herself waving to the fans. Thanks for nuthin! This entry was posted in Uncategorized
